Re: Do the change of seasons effect you?

my cats go nuts when it gets cold---they do this thing i call "thundering" -- they race through the house like they're on fire, you can practically see smoke shooting out their little ears---just mindless running, you know, for the joy of it.  sometimes they stop and leap straight up in the air for no reason.  it makes me laugh.

as for me, i am not affected by seasons at all, except that i seem to sleep more in the winter.

Gray, rainy/snowy days are great for sleeping, that's for sure...

celtic, your post reminded me of what dogs do in the snow...it's great to watch, but hell to clean up!!  They put their noses under the snow and run!!!  It looked kind of like a snowplow, so that's what I call it!!!!  I can't remember the cats with whom I grew up doing that during any particular weather, but I do remember them tearing around like demons!  Really funny!!!

And a dog after a bath!!  Same kind of crazy!!!  My first poodle, my first real pet of my very own, ran in circles around my living room so fast after she got out of the tub that I could SWEAR she was running horizontally around the walls like in the cartoons!!!!

Some of the best slapstick comedy in the world comes from some of our best friends, our pets!!!!  Gotta love 'em!!!

Re: Do the change of seasons effect you?

my haggis does a thing that i call the "rudolph the red-nosed reindeer leap".  he runs up the stairs, stops short at my bedroom threshhold, and then leaps onto the bed, which is about a six-foot leap.  while he's flying through the air, he tucks his front paws under and has this goofy little smile on his face...it makes me nearly pee myself laughing.

yup, our animal friends are good for what ails us sometimes.
